The Dog House is pet friendly

We agree that a house isn’t a home without our four-legged friends, so we’ve taken steps to make them feel as welcome as you are!

Here at the dog house we accept pets of all different shapes and sizes, whether that be a therapy pet or a simple cuddle companion.

  • In order to keep peace and perfection at our properties, there are some steps we ask that you follow:

    • Prior consent from a dog house team member must be granted before any pet is brought into one of our properties

    • The owner of the pet will be asked to sign a ‘Pet Friendly’ agreement inline with their tenancy agreement. This agreement contains rules and regulations to protect us as a Landlord, your Pet, you and your neighbours.

    • All students living within the property must consent and agree that the pet can join them in their living quarters.

    • We ask that all those living in an apartment with a pet make themselves aware of our ‘Pet Policy’ found under the policies section of our website.

  • Each and every apartment, ground floor or second floor have their own personal garden space, meaning there is ample room to let your dog off the lead, or your hamster run around in its exercise ball whilst you sit back and relax.

  • For those of you who are less keen on sharing your living space with a pet, you can be reset assured at the end of each tenancy, following a ‘hand over and sparkle clean’ a thorough check is completed by our in-house management team to ensure no smells, scratches or traces are left behind.

Personal and Approachable Landlord

Throughout your stay at the dog house, you deal directly with a member of our in-house team. We conduct the viewings, take the reservations, answer the phone for any questions during your stay and carry out all property checks. There is no third party. So who are we?

  • We are an honest, fresh, friendly, innovative, approachable and practical student let company, our ethos is to ensure we deliver smashing spaces, in the safest of locations which include everything (and more!) you are going to need.

  • Hi, I am Scarlett Blakey, I head up The Dog House, alongside my husband Alexander, my mother Helen and my father Malcolm. As you already guessed, we are a family run business located out of Lincoln.

    Across the ‘lot’ of us, we have experience in Interior Design, Art, Business and property providing the perfect set of skills to manage the day-to-day running of The Dog House.

    We are a very approachable team, and hold an open door policy to not only ourselves and our staff but any of you too. We care considerably about who our tenants are, how willing they will be to care for our houses and how considerate they will be of their neighbours.

  • We work with our internal partner company Ophelia Blake interior design, to fully furnish all of our student houses, thus meaning the finished product will capture your day-to-day necessities, a hint of home and a layer of luxury.

    We manage all the maintenance on the houses through our partner construction company, Finedale Construction, allowing repairs to be completed in-house, quickly and always for a ‘fair’ price.

Your safety matters

Feeling safe in your own home, is something that we take seriously at The Dog House Living. That is why our four properties are all positioned on a well-lit main road – there is no backstreet or dark passage way to walk down to get to your front door!

Yes, we have a bike store, located at the rear of the property, there is ample space for each tenant to secure their bike.

Yes, we have parking for three of our four apartments, each for 2 cars. This is on a first come first serve basis. The parking is included within he rental cost and is on-drive.

Yes, we are pet friendly, any pet is to be agreed with us before entering any of our properties. You can find more information on this on our website or through reading our pet policy.

Yes, all properties available at The Dog House Living are fully furnished. The only items you will need to provide are your personal belongings, (pots and pans, bedding, ornaments etc..)

Our standard term length is 51 weeks, there may be the possibility of a shorter term. Please dicuss this with a member oft he dog house team.

Your bedroom door has an individual turnkey which will be presented to you upon check in. There will be ample storage space for your items within your bedroom. The kitchen and communal spaces have relevant storage however this is not lockable.

Yes, all our properties require a deposit to secure your rental. This, once paid will be lodged with the TDS deposit protection scheme. The deposit amounts can be found under the apartment section of our website.

Contents insurance is not included within the rent, we advise that all students arrange their own contents insurance for the duration of their tenancy.
